| 4 DAY RAFT SUPPORTED RIVER TRIP |
A four day raft supported multi-day trip - for those
paddlers short of time, a four day trip offers an opportunity
paddle all of the white water in the Batoka gorge. The
four day trip can be made part of a build your own package if
you wish.
TRIP ITINERARY
- Day one:
After meeting at Fawlty Towers in
Livingstone, we will be transferred to “Zig Zag” for
breakfast. After a full breakfast we will make our way to
the boiling pot, directly beneath the Victoria Falls. Few
people have the chance to venture into this region due to
the inaccessibility. This involves a short portage to the
top of rapid #1 and then a paddle across a large eddy to
witness a sight you will never forget. Our guide will lead
you down the river scouting where necessary and showing you
the best playspots. We will have a light lunch on the river
before making camp between rapid #10 and #11. Our guides
will prepare a delicious evening meal.
- Day two:
After breakfast we will spend the day
slowly making our way downstream, stopping to play to our
hearts' content. A light lunch will be served on the river
before making our way to the beach below rapid #25. Your
guides will prepare sundowners and a three-course dinner
while you relax and take in the magnificent scenery.
- Day three:
Breakfast on the beach will be
followed by our longest river day. We will cover
approximately 24km today, running a variety of large and
small rapids, such as Closed Season, Open Season, the
Narrows and Lets Make a Deal. Lunch will be served on the
riverbank along the way. Upper and Lower Moemba are the last
two rapids of the day and are two of the best on the entire
river! Tonight, we dine and camp on the rim of the gorge,
overlooking the river.
- Day four:
After a light breakfast we begin the
drive back to Livingstone through traditional villages,
arriving late morning.
