Tandem Kayaking
Day Trip on The Zambezi River
Tandem Kayaking allows you to experience the rapids of the Zambezi along with one of the the best kayakers in the world in the boat with you! The thrill of dropping into Stairway to Heaven (rapid 5) is something most paddlers never forget. To do this as a client is absolutely unreal! The Zambezi is a very "user friendly" river to paddle being a drop - pool river. We teach you how to hold onto the boat if you go upside down and what to do if you swim. For 100% Zambezi thrills, consider joining us on this trip. There are few places in the world you get to experience such big rapids from a kayak as a novice... enjoy it!

Your Day
We will collect you from where you are staying before 8.30 in the morning. On arrival the boiling pot (or another section if the river is too high) where we'll walk into the gorge. We then give you a full safety and paddle briefing on how to paddle the boat, lean when you cross the river and what to do if the boat flips over. Then you are off paddling some of the best rapids in the world. Morning Glory, Stairway to Heaven and Gullivers Travels. We will stop for a well deserved lunch on the side of the river and a chat with your guides. The afternoon sees more stunning whitewater such as Rapid 11, The Mother and the world famous Oblivon. You'll walk out of the gorge to our waiting vehicle and a well deserved beer! You'll be back in town by around 5pm with many stories to tell to family and friends.
Combo's
If you have a few extra days in Livingstone and you would like to take the opportunity to do another activity with a big discount, your tandem kayaking can be combined with a sunset cruise which includes dinner and all drinks. Potentially the upper Zambezi allows you to view elephants, hippos and other wildlife at close range. The cost for the combo is $275.
